Summer Pre-College Programs

Many of the most competitive colleges offer summer programs. Some allow attendees to earn college credit. Others simply give teens an opportunity to leave home, dive into a subject they're interested in and learn what life is like on a college campus before actually beginning their four-year odyssey.

Consider these benefits of Pre-College Summer Program:

  • Preparing for College Life: For many students, adjusting to college life can be very difficult. A pre-college summer program enables students to spend time on a college campus and take classes from college professors. These programs can help ease the transition to college life during freshman year. Students will be more familiar with the expectations of a college class and be more comfortable navigating a college campus.
  • Exploring Academic Interests: Pre-college programs allow students to take classes in subjects that they are interested in and also provides an opportunity to discover new interests. Typically, courses are offered in a wide variety of subjects like computer science, theater, economics, and philosophy.
  •  Enhances a College Resume: Colleges do like to see that students take advantage of summertime to participate in meaningful activities. Attending a pre-college summer program demonstrates an interest in academics and show a motivation to do more than what’s required to pursue academic passions.
  •  Making New Friends: There are social benefits of attending these programs. Students meet other students and professors from around the world and form meaningful relationships that will last beyond the program.
